Nakasendo Trail
Wandering the historic Nakasendo Trail was an entirely different adventure from the electric pace of Tokyo. I found myself walking on ancient post towns like Magome, Tsumago and Nara-ijuku: cobbled paths lined with traditional wooden houses, misty mountain vistas, and tranquil forests presented a timeless beauty that begged to be photographed. I loved the architecture and the design of these old houses, with their interplay of light through cedar groves and the slow daily life of residents offered a serene, contemplative contrast—inviting me to pause, observe, and document the poetic atmosphere that defines rural Japan.
